Bona nit Cocentaina, Bon dia Valencia

Snickers…unwrapped

Here at Paloma’s Parent’s house, there is a pet shop right across the street.  They have all the usual pet supplies and they also offer grooming services.  Snickers badly needed to be washed, and I thought it would be a great idea to cut her hair too.  Well for 13 euros (about $18), they not only cut her hair, clipped her nails, brushed her teeth, but they also managed to make her look like a...

Vamos a la Playa

Here in Spain, the month of August is the month for vacation.  I discovered this while walking down the streets of Cocentaina and reading the signs outside of each tienda, some stating that they were closed for the entire month.  What a shame when you compare this to the measly 10-days most people in the US get for vacation.  The statistics are very telling, you can read more about it here. Yes, I Am Alive

I will try my best to sum up the past few days.  I apologize for not keeping everyone up to date, but I came down with a vicious case of strep throat a day before I was scheduled to leave.  I was lucky enough to make it to the doctor and get medicine, but the strep throat seems to have turned into a severe case of tonsillitis.   I have chills, fever, muscle aches, and thee usual yet awful sore throat.
